Engraved plaques are cost-effective alternatives to cast plaques and are only recommended for indoor use.  However, the advantage of an engraved plaque is that artwork limitations associated with casting do no apply; anything printed can be engraved. 

Also, a variety of materials are available including brass, copper, aluminum, pewter.  The coating on the metal may also vary from single metallic colors to multi-tone marbleized colors.  Backing boards also come in a variety of materials like such hardwoods as oak and cherry.

Bay Bronze Company Inc. utilizes computer controlled laser engraving, cutting and marking systems. One of the newest systems in our facility is a Universal Laser M-360 Platform that allows us to engrave on a myriad of materials such as brass, aluminum, wood, leather, marble, plastic and glass.

Standard sizes for engraved plaques are available for quicker production and delivery.  However, any sized engraved plaque can be created but entails a custom quotation from our sales department.

We can incorporate engraved photos on bronze plaques which are a very popular alternative to the traditional bas-relief modeling found on cast plaques. The slideshow below illustrates the similarity the engraved image has to the original photo.  Cast plaques require an artist to render the modeling in clay which is subject to artistic interpretation.
